How to Grant Access to Your GoDaddy Domain
This guide explains how to grant access to Node Creek so we can manage your domain’s nameservers and transfer settings without needing your account password.
What is Delegate Access?
Delegate Access is GoDaddy’s secure way to give someone access to your account without sharing your login credentials. You maintain full control and can revoke access at any time.
Two-Step Process
Granting the right permissions requires two steps:
- Invite the delegate to your GoDaddy account
- Grant specific domain permissions (Management Access and Transfer Access)
Step 1: Invite Delegate to Your Account
Instructions:
-
Go to Delegate Access page: Visit https://sso.godaddy.com/access (you’ll be prompted to sign in)
-
Click “Invite to Access”: Look for this button in the “People who can access my account” section
-
Enter delegate information:
- Name: Enter
Node Creek - Email: Enter
[email protected]
- Name: Enter
-
Select access level: Choose “Products & Domains”
- This level allows domain management without purchasing authority
- Alternative: “Domains Only” if you want to restrict access to just domains
-
Click “Invite”: This sends an email invitation
Important Notes:
- Invitations expire in 48-72 hours if not accepted
- You can cancel pending invitations at any time

Step 2: Grant Domain-Specific Permissions
After the delegate accepts your invitation, you need to grant specific permissions for nameserver changes and domain transfers.
Instructions:
-
Go to Domain Portfolio: Visit https://account.godaddy.com/products/domains
-
Access Folders: Click the Folders icon above your domain list
-
Select domains to share:
- Choose “All Domains” to grant access to all domains, OR
- Select a specific folder containing the domains you want to share
-
Click “Edit Folder”
-
Enable the required permissions:
✅ Toggle ON “Management Access” - This allows the delegate to:
- Edit nameservers (required for DNS management)
- Update contact info
- Edit hostnames and forwarding
- Lock/unlock domains
- Manage subdomains
- Turn auto-renew on/off
✅ Toggle ON “Transfer Access” - This allows the delegate to initiate domain transfers to another registrar.
-
Click “Save” to apply the changes
